Exploratory Group Ride to Annapolis

This group ride is designed for the beginner/intermediate rider who is interested in seeing different parts of Maryland by bike. Beginner’s level and up are welcome. *Please note, important, this is a not a “Newbie” ride. A rider must be able to ride a minimum of 20-30 miles @ 11mph.

Group A will meet up at 8:30 a.m. and ride out at 9:00 a.m. leaving from St. Mary’s Park in Baltimore, MD (600 N. Paca St. Baltimore, MD) and ride to Annapolis. This Ride will include more elevation and may be more challenging. The estimated miles are 55-60 miles.

Group B will meet up at 9:30 a.m. and ride out at 10:00 a.m. leaving from Sawmill Creek Park in Glen Burnie, MD (7405 Charley Eckman Ln, Glen Burnie, MD 21061). This group will meet Nia Reed-Jones and meet Group A at Sawmill Park. This ride will be less of a challenge as it relates to elevation. The estimated miles are 35-40 miles.

This is a “No Drop” ride. Riders can expect to have a ride leader and a sweep for riders who fall off the back. Each Ride will have two to three breaks.

Ride Instructions:

· Shaka Pitts will be your Ride Leader and will be meeting Group A only at 8:30 AM.

· Nia Reed-Jones will meet Group B at 9:30 AM.

· Helmet, flat tire repair kit, and a front and rear light are strongly recommended.

· A bicycle computer or cycling app on your cellphone is nice to have.

· Everyone must carry a photo ID and have an emergency contact number with them during the ride.

· Non-Members should sign our liability waiver prior the start of the ride.

· Arrive early to allow time for pre-ride instructions and a bike check.

· Please be sure to bring snacks, water or electrolyte drink or energy gels.

· Rides are season specific so, please check the weather and dress accordingly.
